    All members,

I am looking for information, advice, on experiences riding cross country in 2020! Any advice, information on best maps (map sites), routes, time of year, direction (west to east?), daily length, time required, training, best place to post pictures/journal.........all comments are welcome! - vr Ed

Ive made some initial decisions and timelines along with great information from the Faulkners

Here is what i have so far:

Ride Portland, Or to Washington D.C (west to east - Missoula, Great Falls, Glendive, Bismark, Fargo, Minneapolis, Conover, Manitowoc, Monroeveille, Zaneville, Pittsburg, Washington DC!

    Start in May 2020

Go solo with my fiance meeting me at end of day and maybe lunch

Im thinking getting Adventure Cycling maps? any other recommendations? I have "Ride with GPS" account and have the Faulkners 2016 ride(s) WOW 5557.5KM = 3,453 MILES!!

Im thinking about 60 days, staying in hotels and camping

Im going to check out "Crazy Guy on Bike"

Adventure Cycling. I believe hails from Missoula. That might be a clue that you've somewhat made a decision.  Adventure Cycling Maps.  You can't go wrong.

Why that northern route?  Is it the heat or mountains or...?

Yes, I didn't want the heat or the long stretch through Arizona and Texas. I've gone that way and South Dakota in a car. Plus I've got people I can stay with in Portland.
