Grants

What We Do

As of 2026, we are currently closing in on a total of $500,000 donated to outstanding programs. CIBike provides grants to benefit governmental and non-profit organizations that support bicycling. Primarily in Ventura County California, but also state and national programs.

Grants are provided to:
  • Promote bicycling
  • Encourage youth cycling
  • Support non-profit bicycle advocacy organizations
  • Financially assist bicycle infrastructure in public spaces
  • Advocate for safe cycling through training and improved infrastructure

Who We've Supported

CIBike has a long history of supporting a variety of bicycle-positive programs and projects, such as:

  • Bike Ventura County - bicycle safety training for youth in Ventura County 
  • Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Clara Valley - helmets, lights, bike pumps, and bike racks
  • Newbury Park High School Mountain Bike Club -  contributed to summer camp costs for lower socioeconomic students.
  • Meiners Oaks Park - supported community park development including bike racks, drinking fountain, bench, restroom and an oak tree!
  • Contributed to San Antonio Creek bridge on the Ojai-Ventura River bike path
  • State organizations including - California Bicycle Coalition
  • National organizations including Rails to Trails, League of American Cyclists and Adventure Cycling
How To Apply, the Review Process, and Guidelines

How To Apply:

   Fill out the grant application:

      Grant Application

   Email the application to:

      grantscibike@gmail.com 

The Review Process:

  1. The Grants Director will notify you that the application was received. They will also provide an initial review to be sure that it meets club requirements and is ready for CIBike Board review.
  2. The grant will then be reviewed by the Board at the next appropriate meeting.
  3. Finally, you will be contacted with the outcome of the review.

Guidelines:

  • Grants are limited to $3,000 per organization unless the CIBike Board determines that the benefits of the request are substantial and warrant a greater contribution.
  • CIBike, as a 501(c)4 non-profit, can provide funds in support of bicycling to non-profit and governmental organizations.  We cannot provide direct financial support to individuals or businesses. 
  • CIBike co-sponsors the Cool Breeze Century Bike ride every August. We do not financially support other fund-raising bicycle events by other groups.
  • Grant applications are accepted at any time.  However, funds are limited and applications early in the year are more likely to be successful.
