As if August 22nd, 2008
Listed below are any emails, good or bad, concerning this year’s Cool Breeze Rides. We are always looking to improve the rides. So, send those emails today to Cool Breeze Century Email See you in 2009!
Cool Breeze was the first century for both my riding partner and myself, and we both wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had! The ride was flawlessly organized and supported, and of course, such a massive undertaking would be entirely impossible without the selfless help of so many wonderful volunteers. So thanks to everyone affiliated with the Channel Islands Bike Club and the Ventura Kiwanis for their superb efforts in continuing the tradition of Cool Breeze. It was a fabulous ride and we'll definitely be back! Aden & Dona
Wanted to drop you a note and let you know how much I enjoyed the Cool Breeze ride. I'm a novice with about 1.5 years of weekend riding experiernce. This was my first organized ride. The Cool Breeze was really cool! Well run with great support and rest stops (who can say "no" to a popcicle?). Please pass along my thanks to those who helped make this a great time. Thanks again,Rudy
I did the Cool Breeze Century last weekend and just to say thank you. The ride was well organized, the route was marked much better than any century I’ve done, and I’ve done many. Of course, the scenery was great too. I would recommend this ride to anyone who enjoys doing century rides with a moderate amount of climbing.
Enjoy Life! Victor
Yesterday I participated in my first
organized ride… the Cool Breeze mini-metric and I had a BLAST!! The route
was easy to follow, the volunteers were helpful and encouraging, and the
participants made everyone feel welcome, not just the veteran riders. I want
to say thank you for putting on this wonderful ride. /smaller>/fontfamily>

On another note, Cool Breeze turned out to be fantastic yesterday. The weather was perfect and the sights were unmatched. Bruce W., Richard G. and I rode the century route in 5 hours, 56 minutes (moving time). The popsicles gave us that extra boost and motivation to beat a 6 hour time limit. Highly recommended to those of you that have not yet ridden in a Cool Breeze. Adam
Can I just say that I had a blast last Saturday riding the Cool
Breeze double metric. I moved out here three years ago from Holland and was
used to very flat routes. When my wife and I moved to Ventura last year
I noticed to famous Ventura bike path was right behind our house so I picked
up on cycling again. I heard about the cool breeze and decided to start
training for 200k. I had no idea that the area is so full of hill
(mountains) and realized that I had to really start training hard. I
finished the double metric in 8 hours and 20 min. with an average of 17
miles an hour on the bike. I like to say that a lot of the fun was the
checkpoints because all the people I met there were very friendly
and surprisingly supporting. Everybody was laughing and having a ball so I
just drove from check point to check point.
