An Astonishing Story of Suffering, Triumph, and the Most Extreme Endurance Race in the World

by Amy Snyder

June 2011

HELL ON TWO WHEELS reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, achieves critical acclaim

Hell on Two Wheels launched in mid-May to critical acclaim, and quickly became a best-seller.

The Wall Street Journal called Hell on Two Wheels "engrossing" and a "clear, gripping account." Hell on Two Wheels takes readers inside a harrowing, 3,000-mile long ultra-distance cycling race and follows a handful of athletes who test themselves, each other, and the limits of human endurance.

In addition to the WSJ review, Hell on Two Wheels received an Honorable Mention for non-fiction from the prestigious New York Book Festival. Read more praise here.

2011 Race Across America is On!

The 2011 race got underway from Oceanside, California in mid-June, and the race is on!

Two racers featured in Hell on Two Wheels - Christoph Strasser and Marko Baloh - are back for the 2011 race and are currently battling for the lead (Hell on Two Wheels chronicled the 2009 event). Watch their progress on the RAAM website here. The solo men should finish in Annapolis, Maryland on June 23.

HELL ON TWO WHEELS achieves best-seller status

Hell on Two Wheels occupied the #1 and #3 places in Amazon's cycling rankings as of June 14 (Kindle version was first, hardcover was third).

On Amazon's U.S. site, Hell on Two Wheels enjoys a stellar five-star ranking.

The book is doing well on Amazon's UK, German, and Canadian sites also.

"Across" the Movie follows featured racer Christoph Strasser

Chistoph Strasser is one of the racers featured in Hell on Two Wheels, which follows a handful of athletes during the 2009 Race Across America. Christoph's 2009 race was the basis of a documentary film called "Across," which was recently released in German with English translation. Christoph is an incredible cyclist and a fabulous human being. Check out the video trailer here.
