CIBC General meeting: January 16, 2008

At this very well attended meeting, our new president, Kate Faulkner reminded the club of her intention to have meetings end by 8pm in respect for people’s work schedules. She also announced that our VP Public Relations, Judy Mullins, had resigned and that the board had appointed Bill Faulkner to fill this position.

Other announcements:

Ø VP Membership, George Owens, introduced new members Howe Slade and Andy Nelson

Ø VP Grants, Judith Gustafson, invited members to join Andrew and her on their America by Bicycle trip from New Orleans to Minneapolis.

Ø VP Rides, Robert Dushane, announced the Citrus Classic Sunday Picnic, January 20, at Tierra Rejada Park and encouraged us all to invite our families.

Ø Treasurer, Sonia Sandomer, informed us that we have received $30,000 as our portion of the Cool Breeze monies.

Ø Kevin Moore a King of the Mountain contender told us that Breathless Agony was sold out.

Ø VP Programs, Linda Bott, presented George Chester who spoke clearly and succinctly on the fine art of climbing … lots of low gears, keeping cool, relaxed and fed, and “pacing, pacing, pacing!”
